Say Goodbye to Unlimited Data? Jio & Airtel's Secret 5G Price Plan Revealed!

Indian telecom giants Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel may soon be dialing back on their offering of unlimited 5G data plans for consumers, according to a report in the Economic Times. Analysts predict that by mid-2024, both companies are likely to start charging a premium for 5G plans, with prices potentially 5-10% higher than current 4G rates.

Analysts predict a potential 20% rise in mobile tariff rates by Jio and Airtel as early as September. This move aims to recoup the investments made in 5G infrastructure development and user acquisition. 

While Jio and Airtel are expected to raise prices, other telecom giants like Vodafone Idea and BSNL haven't announced 5G services yet. 

Increased tariffs are a common strategy to recover the hefty costs associated with 5G deployment and expansion.

Vodafone Idea and BSNL might join the 5G bandwagon later this year, leading to potential further changes in the telecom landscape.
